The award-winning Lab is a rehabilitated steel, wood, and metal clad structure originally constructed for the United States Army during World War II. The 106,000-sf renovated structure houses several College of Architecture units, including a digital fabrication studio. Architecture, industrial design students, and faculty utilize the facility for research, studio assignments, and individual projects. The Lab is a fabrication space with over 50 total machines and the lab spaces are well-equipped with the latest in woodworking, metalworking, and digital fabrication tools. The project was completed under budget and six weeks ahead of schedule. The savings provided more amenities for the building, as well as future equipment for the students.
