Texas Children’s Hospital Mark Wallace Tower

Market:

Healthcare

This 462,000-sf, 16-story clinical tower houses most of Texas Children’s outpatient clinics, including Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers, Neurology, and Orthopedics. It includes outpatient labs, pharmacy, imaging and ambulatory surgery suites, plus ten floors of clinic and office space. Office floors are positioned one floor above or beneath clinics, allowing caregivers to move quickly between them. Clinic space works like a multi-use “timeshare,” with several physicians using the same examination rooms during different time slots. Incremental growth is addressed by creating same size support areas and exam rooms with utilities capped in the wall for quick conversion. This project was completed in 2002.
