Wiess House is the home of the President of Rice University. Bellows built the original building in 1946 and was selected to renovate the home in 2003 after the house had been unoccupied for the previous 25 years. The project involved extensive remodeling and 3,000 square feet of new construction. The new roof on the home came from the Wiess Building on campus. All of the wood floors were completely redone and extensive landscaping was added. The project was designed and completed in 2004 at a construction cost of $3.8 million.
