Our History The Texas Medical Center, now the largest in the world, was officially chartered in 1945 and has become a leader in world-class patient healthcare, academic training, and medical research. Bellows was one of the first general contractors to work in this medical epicenter and has since completed over 2,000 projects on nine medical campuses there. As the healthcare industry grew and evolved, Bellows identified the need for a permanent satellite office in the TMC. On January 12, 2009, Bellows Construction opened its doors to the Medical Center Renovation Team (MCRT) office.

Our Mission The MCRT exclusively performs renovation and addition work for healthcare facilities and other institutions in the immediate TMC area. The MCRT is a team of highly specialized and experienced personnel who execute complex renovation projects within occupied hospitals, research facilities, and institutions of higher learning. Our top priority is to safely build spaces that complement our clients’ missions. We go that extra mile to get acquainted with the in-house professionals and medical staff to ensure safety and gain a clear understanding of their expectations. The MCRT office allows us to serve our clients in the TMC area with greater efficiency, speed, and care. Our MCRT office is a premier renovation partner for all TMC institutions and delivers quality, value-oriented healthcare and research renovation projects to all our clients. We take thoughtful designs and transform them into innovative spaces that enhance patient care and client satisfaction.

We are your partner in healthcare. We are the Bellows Medical Center Renovation Team.

“W. S. Bellows Construction Corporation has been part of developing, changing, upgrading, and expanding our Texas Children’s facilities during my 30 years leading our organization. They have constructed many of our facilities in the Texas Medical Center, most recently the vertical expansion of our Smith Legacy Tower which houses our most critically-ill children and families. Bellows helps us create environments within which we do what we do best - provide the best possible care to our patients and their families.” Mark A. W. S. Bellows values people by providing the best for their clients and it shows in the way they do business. Laura Schmidt Senior Project Manager Memorial Hermann Hospital

“Prior to our capital project and renovation of the Ronald McDonald House Houston’s Holcombe House, we had to sadly turn away 12-15 families a day who were in critical need of our services. Because of the work of the Medical Center Renovation Team at W. S. Bellows Construction Corporation, we completed the three-phased project on time and under budget. Today we are able to serve 40% more families and children at Holcombe House. Our Ronald McDonald House Houston family; our board, our volunteers, our staff, and families, are proud to pay tribute to the great team and partnership we have enjoyed with the Medical Center Renovation Team. We are thankful for Bellows Construction’s leadership and support.” Rick Noriega Chief Executive Officer Ronald McDonald House Houston

“Their estimating was realistic, accurate, fully transparent, and brought all major user groups together in a seamless effort. They were responsible, attentive to detail, rigorous in holding all the major stakeholders responsible for their work, and quickly responsive to the design team’s and client’s [Ronald McDonald House] questions and needs. Their expectation of a quality outcome aligned with the client’s expectations all the while focusing on maintaining patron and staff safety without disruptions.” John Putnam Executive Vice President Pin Oak Interests
